Inverse distance weighting interpolation-based immersed boundary velocity correction method for incompressible flows

چکیده

In this work, the inverse distance weighting (IDW) interpolation is introduced into implicit velocity correction-based immersed boundary method (IBM) for simulation of incompressible flows. original IBM, solid body must be in a uniform mesh region due to use smooth Dirac delta function, which utilized associate Lagrangian points with their surrounding Eulerian and only works meshes. The IDW has advantage that range can set flexibly. introduction extend application IBM non-uniform meshes while reducing number points. numerical test by decaying vortex problem proves does not significantly affect overall accuracy IBM. addition, experiments flows around circular cylinder NACA0012 airfoil demonstrate advantages proposed method, including allowing fewer ensuring no streamline penetration body, as well its adaptability improve computational efficiency Finally, flow past stationary sphere illustrates effectively simulate three-dimensional flow.
